This is the Legend, as passed down by the royal family of Kandarin.[/FONT]

"Ages ago, before this kingdom of Kandarin ruled over the northern continent, the world was held in the hands of two ancient and wondrous empires. Aetheria, to the east, was an island populated by a windblown people. Her lands were green, and her mountains tall. Undaria, to the west, was an ancient, rugged land. Mountains rose from the plains like spires, and deep old forests dwelt in their shadows.
The Aetherians were a noble race. They built great temples to their gods, and sacrificed great amounts of gold and silver to them. Yet the gods were not pleased.
The Undarians spent most of their time in thought and meditation. They grew wise and cynical. Over time they came to love the darkness that was ever present in their land. Through magical means, they constructed temples that hovered over deep chasms. Within their walls, they performed blood sacrifices to their gods. Yet the gods were not pleased."
Now, 1300 years later, the world is much different. No great empires, only two kingdoms living in peace and trying to survive. War is an impossibility, and the borders of the kingdoms are unguarded.

However, it is not the kingdoms that pose a threat. A group of cultists have assaulted the nearby temple of the elements. King Terronus has called you, son of the captain of the guards, to investigate. Of course, you won't be alone.

What started as a mere investigation will lead you marching across the world and even changing a bit of history...

Toby is the composer and co-producer of Legend of Aetheria. So far he has composed several high-quality songs. The songs are recorded in OGG format and will be included in the next release of the demo! He also has created several puzzles and side-quests which will be appearing in later releases of Legend of Aetheria.

Legend of Aetheria, or LoA, for short, is an RPG with a classical feel. It will not deal with everyday issues. It is designed to be a fresh game that's reminiscent of the old RPG heyday. It will feature a vast world and lovable characters.
It will use a number of features and plenty of RTP style custom graphics, almost all made by me. The music will be from a selection of other video games. The mp3 files have been encrypted with Thompson's MP3PRO for much smaller size with the same level of quality.
The game will feature many customized animations and many learnable spells. The gameplay has been balanced. Efforts have been made to accommodate different rates of progress.
The story and history are very detailed and will be slowly revealed as you play. This demo will take you through the first half of the game.

Expect to wield a vast amount of equipment, fight numerous monsters and solve mind-boggling puzzles.

Map use skills are magical abilities that can only be used on the map. LoA's puzzles focus on the use of custom made skills of this type. Use special skills to manipulate game objects to solve puzzles and find secrets! Below is a list of the first 3 map use skills you will find in LoA.

Kinesis - Used by Lance. Use this spell on boulders and movable blocks to move them sideways.

Levitate - Used by Tethra. Use on boulders and movable blocks to lift them into the air and place them in a more convenient location.

Explode - Used by Aric. Cast on crumbling walls to destroy them. Many things can be found behind old walls.

More skills abound in LoA, good luck finding and mastering them!

It is very detailed and accurate. It provides great insight as to what to expect while playing LoA.

Geez...still not done eh?
Well it's good to know that you haven't abandoned it. I remember when you first started this project. I always looks up to you as a superior game developer. Still has the charmed it originally had.

Work hard.

That my firend, is the demo. The incomplete full game will last aprox. 16-20 hours but I can't make a good estimate just yet.

Ha ha, I'm not so sure about that, Draken

@j-street: I meant that the full game is incomplete... the part that is complete is the demo.. sorry if my dysfunctional logic didn't make sense.. it tends to do that.

I'm not sure what you mean.. do you want me to change the title screen?

I'll add in more information in just a bit, I was really tired last night, so I only put in the basics.

I think the title screen is simply and effective. Some people have the tendency to get a bit TOO abstract and wild with title screens.

There's nothing wrong at all with just using text as a title screen, most of the popular franchises do.

However, while on the topic of the title screen I'd perhaps spend a little more time at some point making the logo more distinguishable to your project, it just acts as a strong link for people to immediately recognise your game by. The Master of the Wind logo demonstrates this quite well I think.

All in all though I wouldn't say it was anything to complain about.

All points made will be taken into consideration. I'll take a peak at Master of the Wind, as you said, Calibre, and think about remaking the text..

I might change the background too.

Added 3 new screenshots!

Blooody hell this game looks good. Well, I say looks.. What I've played of it is awesome. Can't wait for the finished and polished version. Keep up the good work.

Upgraded the title screen! Looks much better now. I also added some character pics! If you want me to add more to the topic, just ask for something (i.e. screenshots, story, character info). Chances are, I'll put it up in at least a day or two, depending on what you asked for. ;)

Hey Alastyr, I see you changed the logo in the end. To me at least It looks alot better than it did before, more memorable. Does that circular clock-like thing have anything to do with the story, or express any of the connotations of your game?

The only thing I would say though is having three different layer styles on the font is quite off-putting, but it was like that the first time round too.

Of course it's not a priority, and I know the Master of the Wind logo has varying text styles, but it fits that style of game. usually type is kept consistent within a logo, particularly with the main bulk of it.

Here's a few quick links for you to see what I mean from professional RPG's,
Like I said, it's certainly not a priority but while it's a recent topic I may as well discuss it now.
