Tyke template...think Snes.

Here's a little something for you guys, good for your maps, mini games, full games, maybe usable as some kind of battery operated doll XD, it took me about 2 hours something more or less (too long?).

EDIT: Here's a rough estimate of what we should work on to build an rtp, We should all try one of each at least.

Player Character Charactersets
7-8 Swordsman Types
4-5 Lancer Types (Can just be considered in the 7-8 swordsmen to make the size of the file smaller)
3-4 Blunt Weapon Wielding Types (Like Barbarians!)
4-5 Thief Types
3-4 Elvish/Bow Wielding Types
4-5 Gun Wielding Types (Because the RTP lacks heavily in gunners.)
4-5 Priest/Cleric/White Mage Types (Because the RTP compensates for gunners with priests)
5-6 Mage Types (you can never have enough mages)
3-4 Martial Artist Types (Why are they only NPC's?)

NPC Charactersets
3-4 Kings (1 King to rule a bunch of lands? BAH!)
3-4 Kings (Can't be a king w/o your queen!)
2-3 Traveler Types (Like Trader--001)
2-3 Gypsy Types (Because the RTP lacks heavily in any type of NPC)
4-5 Fairies (Why is there only one?)
4-5 Medieval Type Soldiers (Because there's only two types)
4-5 Modern Type Soldiers (To allow modern type games as well)
A Crapload of Mobs

, yes it can be used for a pokemon game i think, it doesn't have as much of a top down look as the standard poke sprites but close enough though.

I like the template (aside from the fact that it streches the arms to the side, which'd be pretty exhausting for the characters, I think ^_^ ), and I made my own attempt at spriting The Third Man... let's see:

Okay, I see that your spriting is great, which makes my character look even worse that he'd be by itself XD, but well, I tried...

I'd also like to point out that with the Custom Resolution Script (can be found in my signature, as always), you can use this as a real character template and not as a remote puppet one or whatever ^_^

I think the character looks great man :thumb:, i really like what you did with the mouth area too, one thing i think you should have done is sprite the hair to the sides of the face same as the avatar so the ears wouldn't be visible.

Oh man I've wondered if i would ever see a custom resolution script, always wanted to create a game with smaller characters, i will check it out right now, thanks bud

Based the example off of Tier 2 Warrior Armor in WoW, couldn't get the shoulders to fit, it has a big head xD Again, cool template and easy to work with.

After you mark the hair line it will be easier to work on your hair, and on the third character I've marked where the shoulders meet the face too.

, i have been thinking of making a kid too, but I'm not sure it's needed though, .. i wonder if others would join in if a contest was created ( a make a full character or one frame), would be fun anyway.

EDIT: I'm going to make some characters for it soon, just have to make some more progress with the Q advance before i get into that though.

Hey good transfer there man, the armor and wrist bands look very nice on the little fella :D

So far every sprite that I've seen made with this template looks really good, and very cute. Which is pretty cool! Maybe it's because it's so small that it's pretty easy to get decent results.

Hmmmm... I have a favoured colour pallete I like to test out for new templates to see how I do... Ill try this out! (Im not going to use it, but Im gonna post it... all)

This is pretty neat! Im doing a custom battler, a custom RTP spriteset and a custom one of these of the same guy! But the hair is gonna be different on this one... Unless I can grasp it!

these look so cool! i might use these for my game because like saint minor said it would be great fro a rookie spriter like me to use, if anyone can make a tileset that goes with these i would be very grateful

Also a slightly smaller one for kids would be a good idea
A Side view battler set would be cool as well

EDIT:
some extra poses later on would be a good idea, like riding a horse/chocobo, climbing, swimming, dashing, sitting driving a go kart (for fun XD) hanging from a ledge just for some examples, if you need/want more let me know

, great looking characters, Lene, imo that type chipset is perfect for the temp too, i can see someone making a full game with the temp and your chips :D

If anyone wants to take a crack at a kid or some poses be my guest, the kid shouldn't be much of a problem, you just need to make some simple edits to the temp and shrink it down 2 pixels max, if anyone wants to make some poses you should take a look at ff5 for ideas.:thumb:

EDIT: By the way guys, i forgot to remove two pixels off of the 2nd standing frame (frontal) so just remove those two pixels from the bottom of the arms.
