Why do so few people use IGM?

In your opinion / experience, why do so few people use IGM?

It's obvious that the program absolutely bombed in the English community.

Personally I think it just tried to be too complicated with it's interface, and eB tried too hard to be something more than just RPG Maker. I dunno, it just doesn't have the usability and functionality that I thought it would have.

they went too far with their usual practice of intentionally weakening their releases to drum up hype for future releases. the restriction on sound formats, on text entry, all the basic things aside from the platforming physics themselves; all of them are really indicative of a lot of botched market planning in the vein of "okay in our next release we will fix these two things and people will love it and also we will break these two things for the release after that." same thing they've been doing since XP, but hopefully this'll force them to rethink it a little.

Hell, this is even one of the more active boards for it :x

And that says alot, as even the IGM board here isn't active. And Wyatt is also right at the 64-bit problem, I think that in a not so long period most computers are on Windows 7, that not many people switched to Vista was because Vista's shit, 7 is not. So basically if you buy IGM and go to W7, you're fucked by $110.

This and really I can't understand why they would overlook this kind of issue given that the 32-bit age is on its way out. Once 7 is in full swing in the market share they will prolly stop releasing xp service pack updates and eventually support in general like they did with the legacy os's.

I'm sure it was a matter of lol we'll just fix that with IGMW7 extreme pro edition in two years. Which wouldn't be a big deal if each new Enterbrain iteration of their products wasn't treated as a stand alone rather than a newer version of the same old thing. Your RMVX can't open your RMXP projects. What reason do we have to believe that the next iteration of IGM will be able to run projects made by the previous editor?
