Alrighty! So, some of you who knew me a few years ago (when the mapping academy was around) remember some of this stuff. Those of you who dont, well... Here is a chance for you all to learn from everything I have written and collected over the years.

I was one of the Admis of the Mapping Academy, and taught people how to make maps and such in the academy, and then rated them on their work.

As part of that academy, I wrote tutorials on mapping certain aspects of the world in RMXP.

So, here they are. I was looking through my stuff and decided to put all of my mapping stuff on here for everyone to use, abuse, destroy, and do pretty much anything you want (other than steal it of course) and only ask that you dont relabel these things as your own, and give credit where its due.

Here are the 5 Tutorial Files. (They are good! They explain basic mapping for outdoor, indoor, and things like effects and weather. Its worth a read!)

These are for making torch effects. it makes it get darker the farther away from the player it is.

Apart from the fog effect in the first tutorial that kills the view, I found everything nice to see, explained with very clear words and steps to follow.

I'm bookmarking this topic and would recommand any of the assignements.

DL'ing all of these. I remember looking at these for the first time in amazement; they really got me inspired as far as design and detail goes. You sort of made the base for my mapping style, so I thank you much :D

Although I do admit, I'm not too impressed with your interior and cliff maps. The interior is more of a nitpick with the different floor patterns; nothing too serious. The mountains, however, seem too straight to me. Like they fell just short of being nonlinear. Everything in that map can be traced with straight lines.
