Where'd You Hang Out When You Were 18?

I was a hermit. I stayed in my dorm room most of the time. Every once in a while some friends would drag me out for the making of mischief. The mischief usually involved going to Frat house parking lots and switching around liscense plates during parties.

Now... I hang out in the library at school a lot. Well, not so much hang out as meet people to frantically pour of dozens of thousand-page tomes to find specific tidbits of information needed by the next day. Division of labor for the win.

I also hang out in the Health and Public Affairs building at UCF.

Every once in a while I have/attend drunken rows with friends.

They have interchangable meanings.

Technically... they don't. :P A university consists of multiple colleges each with its own focus (examples... the college of engineering, the college of health and public affairs). A college is either a small two year institution (a community/junior college) or one of the above mentioned divisions of a university.

In general, people understand that the phrase "going to college" means that the person is a student at either a university or a community college.

Always did the coffee shop thing - share couple baskets of fries with a friend or two, drink beer/coffee/coke for couple hours.

Heh still do I guess, even 9 years later ^_^

Coffee shops, bars/pubs (mostly to see bands; I don't really "drink" drink), Billiards Pool Hall (I love billiards and I'm getting ok at Snooker). Obviously, at friend's places too, but if I go out, it's usually to one of those three places.

Various friends and myself have spent time occupying various administration facilities. When free, we'd find one-time use friends, go to their house, and then consume an exhorbitant amount of mind-altering substances. Then there is the commercial mall, snooty underground music venues, and loitering around headshops and the hookah bar.

Well, I'm 19, but whatever. I go to the UNIVERSITY of North Carolina, so, yeah, there are universities in North America. Anyway, a lot of people do the coffee shop thing, but it's a bit cliche, but then again, that might be exactly what you want. Mostly, people just hang out in the dorm rooms. I mean, back in the day, people needed "hang outs" because there wasn't stuff to do. Now, you have xbox, playstation, and laptops in the room, plus normal cable tv. I mean, most people just hang in the rooms, b/c of all the aforementioned stuff. Then again, there are also places like Cat's Cradle for music, and then clubs and stuff. Lots of people are into clubs. Mostly though, we just chill in our rooms, get drunk there or in frat houses, and play basketball outside or in the gym nearby.
