Why this forum is dying: we've all been at University or other things.

How this is resolved: I finish University tomorrow.

Is any of this a problem: no.

Consider this resolved.

Be prepare for the future studying is a must that everybody does.

While we are surfing the web we are inside other world, this forum is a country, you are the government and im a citizen.

So i trying to said that this forum have to marry with others peoples to have some babies and grow as community, Rpg Maker based will be a great option, but as i said before is just my opinion.

I don't think this site has seen a summer after 2006, where there hasn't been a thread just like this (asking why we're dying).

this is so true. though i haven't been an official member that long (i don't think), I started lurking as a guest and stealing resources right about that time. every summer I see these post (which is obviously the slow season). game development activity is clearly down though. i used to love coming in and checking the screenshot thread to get me motivated to continue work on my own game (went from 5 new screenshot posters a day to maybe 1 a week). I think the vets should cater to the newbies more. Every new game thread should have at least 10 different posters in it. cuz all you guys are great with games and people mostly come here to be critique and tutored. right now you all are like bored kings posting just to show face. At least that's how it appears.

It can sometimes feel like we're only posting because we're required too though; I try to reply to anything that actually interests me but I haven't found much that interesting - I'm probably not looking hard enough because I just ventured into boards I haven't been in in a while and found some real gems. and though it may not seem fair (for lack of a better word), but it's you guy's responsibility to try and make interest even when there is none. and i know and seen you guys try with contest and things like bacon's map guru thread and what not but basically to reiterate what i said early people wanna be critiqued and tutored. so if you find yourself truly bored and wanna force yourselves to post why not go all the way and force post so suggestions or constructive criticism in the game development threads. honestly i've gone in people's threads with the intention of doing it and i know it's hard as fuck, especially when their game appears shitty. but im thinking maybe just some words of encouragement from the some of the more respected and seemingly "cool" people who often post on this site outta boredom can easily be turned into just the motivation someone may need to keep working or re-spark their interest in making their own project. I'm sure every here has been through the tough times of game making, creatively and or I cant think of the word right now cuz im high as fuck but it's likely a synonym for moral, but anyway guys who been here for a while should pretty much no by now why people leave and or don't finish their games cuz we've also been there ourselves. our job as veterans in the community should be to help the new neighbors get settled in AND comfortable enough to the point that wont hesitate to ask to borrow sugar (poor metaphor i know actual the whole think sucked but you guys get my point).

sorry for ranting so much tonight, i'll be back to my normal lurk-ish self as soon as i come down i'm sure....i hope i come down eventually cuz it's damn near 8am.

And yes, this is a real concern -- something we hope to address with the ~*~big thing~*~ we're working on.

I'd say it's less people actively trying to sabotage it and more people who think they're doing the right thing but are just being authoritarian, like Perihelion.
