What happened to .net: a timeline

Wow, I've heard of what happened, but this just really gets me. That sucks big time! Glad we switched over.

EDIT: Oops, didn't realize spoiler tags were up and running. Where have I been, honestly?

I feel like crying...I loved .net, and I hated the idea of moving to .org, if .net was still running, then I would never have switched to .org...
I had no idea that Lord Gradiant owned .net! I'm an idiot, but I'm sure I've seen that name somewhere before I heard of .net, probably my stupidity though. It's cool that he's out of hiding.

.net had SO many problems that could not be fixed and just got worse daily. I don't see why people loved it so much when this is basically the same community minus the problems and minus the inactive users that didn't care about the site and just came to leech.

It's probably because Battle World RPG was going through every important stage of it's 3 years of developement during my time on .net. .net was the first forum that I ever signed up to.

It was one of my first forums too. So? And if it was going through its third year of development while .net was up, now it's going through its third year of development at .org... what's the difference?

it was the time that I was on .net that everything was happening to the project, on .org it's gone quiet and boring.

WTF??!? XD, you barely post here, if i'm not mistaken. This forum is quite fun, with lene and ccoa's help. "The Other Hand" always has something to talk about, so does "RPG Maker XP".

I don't see any difference between .net or .org. Just the skin and that .org is better.

Its very immature to not like .org because its not .net...

I second most of it ;) About the transition from.net to .org... i hated it.. The biggest issues was Forum's. vBulletin really really stinks :(, hence im used to IPB alot by now! All of my work and stuff that gave me my rmxp online friends all were from .net; I agree an od feeling of quietness in the forum.. makes me feel depressed.

Nearly all the active people that were on .net are on .org too. As said, it's the same comunity. I didn't like vBulletin first, too, but now I don't care, you have some skins that make the forums more attractive.

Plus, I'm active here! I wasn't active on .net. Therefore, the forums arae 20x better than .net.

:P

And I personally prefer vBulletin to IPB. Expecially the "subscribed threads" feature. It just didn't really work with IPB, the threads would subscribe, but then they would disappear after about 10 minutes. Now I don't even have to look at the main forums to browse topics I've already posted in! It's so convenient!

I prefer .org, and I have done since I registered, and I'm alot more active here than I was over a .net, despite the fact I have even less free time than I normally do.
