Hi everyone,
I have some questions to ask, but first, I need to do a brief explanation.
RPG Maker XP was my first experience with building video games, and even though I never officially completed a game, it taught me principles and
ideas that I would propel me towards my future career as a software developer. Eventually though, high school, college, and then marriage all pushed RMXP
to the background, but I never forgot what ignited my desire for programming.
Now, after about nine or ten years after picking up RMXP, I've graduated with a degree in Computer Science and an interest software development in the
OS X and iOS environments. RMXP was the trigger that made me interested in programming and software, and I would like to help others express
their creativity with software that could give them the same kind of experience that RMXP was for me.
My questions to you guys are do you think:
1) Game creation suites like RMXP are still actively desired?
2) A well executed version of game creation software in the vein of these game makers with preloaded content and forced limitations would have a market to succeed in?
If you have any other opinions about this, I'd like to hear them as well.
If this is the wrong forum, I apologize, I was unsure as to where this should go.
Thank you,
