Go button mashing goodness, well not really…. I never really understood things battle system… I get the idea and enjoy ABSs even more so than most other battle systems, but this one lacks fun. You need to find a way to add the fun back into it. Maybe it is just the way you wanted it to be, but personal I wouldn’t play a game with such a system. Look into a better targeting system, more combos, better effects and a better AI.

Still, keep in mind, this was unfinished so bugs and lack of features is expectable. I'd say it's considered open-source.

EDIT: Now that i've played this version, I see what you mean. The newer demo released by XRXS is MUCH better, I don't even see the improvement in this.

this one just basicaly fixed most of the bugs because as i recall the one with platforms and ranged attacks did have a few errors, i would have edited that one but unfortunatly this was the only one i could find

and just as a reminder to every one i did not make this just edited it a verry small bit most of the editing was done by Minkoff and the original was made by XRX so yes i do agree that this needs alot more improvement

I hope you can list what battler images are doing what, as the "example" ones aren't that helpfull.

For example the first four walking sprites are walking, but the next set are for running.
A little while later there are two simple standing sprites, theses are infact for jumping.
The first is for a long "dash jump" and the second a straight up (mostly)jump.

It might be a good idea to indicate these things.

When the CBS was up at XRXS, they had all that on the page. All you had to do was use a translator and you would know. But of course, it's not up anymore, so we won't exactly know until it is again(I requested it be put back on the site).
 
Well, in my demo, you can press "D" to go into an in-battle menu, where you can use items, set skills to buttons, change your equipment, or choose to flee from battle.

You can set the skills to the B button. For instance, you can set a "Lightning" skill to B+Up and "Heal" to B+Right.

Well i have been trying to find this 4ever. However now that i did im not as impressed. First of this is the tales of phantasia batle sys and not TOS. Secondly Its not as fun as i had expected it to be.
Still I want the you who edited and are in charge of this project to keep progressing it. It has potential.

So I will do my part and post a link to the SNES version of TOP so you can download it and get a better idear on how to make it fun.

why not? Theyr perfectly leegal if you deelet them within 24 hours ;)
I dont see a problem.

Also I have supplys and some experiance in makeing animated battlers. So if you could supply me with what possitions I need and how each position should be named I can open a topic with my own made custom battlers. (I cant quite make everything out just checking the graphics... all poses arent distinctive)

Are you kidding me? This version just fixed a few bugs that were already fixed in XRXS's newer demo, and an impossible battle to boot. The newer demo is MUCH better and has tons of new features.

I'm especially fond of the combo system and HUD.
