Soldier 3

Ever needed a soldier sprite, but looked at Soldier 1 and said to yourself, "His armor and helmet look funny", then looked at Soldier 2 and said, "He's cool, but he's way too fancy"? Well so have I. Many times, actually.

But you don't wanna hear me ramble on, right? Right. So I went through the trouble of combining Soldier 1 and 2 into what I think is a very Soldier-ish looking combination.

I call him Soldier 3 because he's Soldier 1 and Soldier 2 put together (1 + 2 = ...12?) Yes, I know it's simple frankenspriting with a touch of recolor, but that's the point! It's a simple soldier that looks great in a large group of other... soldiers.

Two more soldiers! Betchya can't guess what they're called. Soldier 4 (1+2+1) on the left and Soldier 5 (1+2+2) on the right.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, you can use these as you like, just give credit where credit is due!

Oh, man, I can't believe I made another one. Following the addition pattern, this is most likely Soldier 7 (1+2+2+2). So where's number 6 you ask? Well, perhaps a little recoloring and...

Oh snap! He looks like the Black Knight! I shall call him Soldier 6.

He looks great! You could do a lot of variations of this soldier just by recoloring the tunic underneath. The only thing that bugs me is the brown on the boots. I think that could be recolored to match the toe of the boot. Regardless, it looks nice.

You know, if you're up to it, you could probably add this helmet to the other charsets that have armour - like the dreaded Aluxes.

Hehe, you could make lots of Soldiers:
1+2 = 3 (Soldier 3)
1+3 = 4 (Soldier 4)
2+3 = 5 (Soldier 5)
1+2+3 = 6 (Soldier 6)

And so on, This could make another 100+ (Well, even over 1,000,000 if you were sad enough and up to the challenge) types of Soldiers, I like, I like, Carry on, PLEASE !

I really like this idea. Well done. I'm not a spriter so I can't give good criticism, but still wanted to recognize your good idea.

That's a good idea ~R~ and jbrist... you could make, like... an ARMY of soldiers! :D *Cricket chirp*

So I went with that idea and added Soldier 4 and 5 (ISN'T MATH FUN?!? :thumb: ) 5 Isn't much, just a new helmet, recolor, and a little... loin-cloth-thingy. I like 4 though, even though he's a tad shorter. Most likely 4 is a new recruit, 3 is standard soldier, and 5 is a captain of some sort. Or perhaps a sergeant.

So how is the army turning out so far?

I made another one. O_o These things are surprisingly easy to make. Unfortunetely, this one will probably be the last (unless you count recolors like numero seis over there). I'm pretty much outa ideas for more soldiers. The only one left would a king in armor or something.

Also, I recolored number 3's boots. Now he's got some pretty spiffy boots.

You can use any or all of these soldiers, just remember to give credit and all that good stuff.

And hey, maybe I could even make more if people really wanted me to... :yes:

Yay! Down poses! Admittedly, though, they don't look very good when placed together. At all. Unless maybe they're sleeping or something. But at least I put SOME kinda down pose up, so they feel 'complete', at least for me.
