There does seem to be quite a difference, although the default battle system looks the same it does look improved graphically.

Now it might just be me but does anybody else just get a load of question marks? if not could you tell me what I have forgot to install when re-formating.

That's japanese, you need support for the japanese characters to be able to see them.
 
The default menu and battle systems make it look like graphically enhanced versions of 2k... :/
I wish it would list some improvements over XP, besides the obviously superior RTP.

I don't like the sound of that, the translation is making it sound that rgss isn't going to be a feature, or maybe I have seriously read it wrong.

Yeah it states no RGSS, this makes me wonder whats going to be done.

Also it states that the system uses online configuration

So in other words this may not be a desirable update to many of us here at RMXP.org.

I for one would probably not bother with it if it does not contain RGSS or another programming language.
 
I can't really say I like the looks of that battle system. There's no battlers or facesets for the heroes. :( If there's not going to be any RGSS, then I hope they have something just as good. I don't know about the tileset graphics yet since they only gave a tiny pic.
 
There obviously will be an RGSS, it just looks like they modified the default systems to be more appealing (such as including facesets and having an FF-style battle layout).

Hopefully there are more functional improvements that will make this worth buying (Because sites will likely post the RTP for download later for use in RMXP anyway).

It states on the site that there is no RGSS.

But closer to it's release I'm sure there will be more info, in English as well.

It translates, which != states :D I'd love to have the script editor, but for now I'm dissapointed. Could somebody, speaking Japanese, tell us something more than google translator?

That's what he's talking about. Sure, the translation is shitty, but I understood it this way too.

I don't like anything I see.

The GFX remind me of RM2k3... and the battle system is crap, and they probably stole half our scripts, rewrote them, and used them in VX.

AND WHAT? No RGSS? Perhaps the translation is wrong...but wow. No RGSS means I won't even buy this.
 
I think what they meant in the translated version is that it'll use RGSS but there'll be workarounds for folks who don't get scripting.

Hmm here is another translation of the RGSS part of the site.

If I do not use the script called RGSS in a/the previous work 'RPG ツクール XP' in a/the made, now many of the functions, that were not possible became able to use it only with easy setting. Also, it commands and be able to make able to paint only with few operation a beautiful map with one and also and also with, it is considering it such that the trouble of a/the user is able to omit the event that I use well to over heretofore.
It is recording the sample data that was refined greatly!

Which is completely different, and doesn't mention NO RGSS, to me it means things that were not possible before are with scripts using an easy setting.

That basicly translates to new editors :)
 
The Ruby (C) has already been mentioned but there is also this one:

Which is the source code editor that the RGSS used. If that isn't evidence that RGSS is still in, I don't know what is.
