RPG maker VX?

It's said it'll be on PC on this site
http://www.tkool.org/news/ <==

They haven't announced on Enterbrain official site, but it will be released on 27th of December.

This version also double the framerate, and improve the script editor interface. And due to the difficulty beginners have had with RGSS, they decide to make it easier to event.

Can't wait to see this. XD

OH SNAP!

If this is true, the site is going to have to go through some major editing! I mean, will the site still be called rmXP.org? Would it become RMVX.org?

What would happen?

I hope it has the same commands at rm2k3 and has RGSS at the same time. That way it's still possible to make a game even without knowing Ruby :/

Did you miss my post? On Enterbrain's website it says a sequel to the popular rpg maker series is being made.

Of course I didn't. I read it, but that's not enough proof.

@hima: thanks, I now fully understood what that site was saying :P

Nothing is going to happen. Support will probably added, as well as retaining XP, but nothing as drastic as changing the domain and site name.

/\ Isn't that monopolizing? :/

I prefer the name RMXP.

*Prays it'll be backwards compatible*
If not then all the scripter's'll move on to VX and XP will be left with nothing... Or, the noobs'll go with VX and XP will get better.

From what Hima's stated, VX seems to be a minor update of XP, like how 2k3 was to 2k. While I'm sure many people will flock on over to the new software, it's not really too drastic of a change so I doubt we'd be affected too much.

Mainly the Database changed from rm2k to rm2k3. I hope Enterbrain will provide an update for XP for a minimal fee if it's only a small update but the same engine.

Seems like this person's art will be monsters in RTP of RMVX
http://sakyo.sakura.ne.jp/f_index.htm

I'm not sure if this will be the minor update. RMVX will feature power-up autotile, but they didn't really say what kind of power up :/

The spec requirement is as follow
Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP / Vista
Intel Pentium III 1.0GHz or above
Memory 256 MB or above( recommended 512 MB or above)
HDD 100 MB or above (Probably for RTP)

It this requirement higher than RMXP? I didn't have time to compare so someone might want to check :)

And yeah, if it's just a minor update...100$ is too much O_o; 3D game had better be possible on RMVX if it cost that expensive lol.

EDIT : Also, according to the Rpg maker staff's blog here http://www.famitsu.com/blog/tkool/
he/she said that "something" will happen on the 9th of October... hopefully the official preview or news about VX!!

I know that VX has extra features with the Autotiles and a lower frame rate and there is a rumour about the script editor having some sort of help thing for people who cant script.
VX is just an update from XP like 2K was to 2K3.
2K3 didn't get an english release, so will VX be in english or not is my question.
By what I've read from it VX is just minor updates that you can do in the script editor of XP but VX costs $99.

a lower frame rate? Xilef, what are you smoking?

Anyway, why are people shocked about the $100 price? That is how much RM2K, RM2K3, and RMXP all cost in Japan.

Diedrupo, $100 is quite a lot of money for just an update. Just because RM2K, RM2K3 and RMXP all cost $100, VX should be the same? That's like saying: "Hey, dude, everyone here is smoking. You should smoke too." Did that sound stupid? It's exactly the same with this.

Who says it is just an update? I'm not going to believe some random person's misinterpretation of a google translation.

And even if it is an update (which I doubt it is), that would mean it's free to existing RMXP users but for people who haven't purchased it yet, it would cost the same as RMXP.

RMK3 could be seen as an "update" - but that was still full cost. Fact is, the "updated" bits are usually bloody good updates. Anyone remember the commotion about MP3s and Sideview battles in RM2K3?

I need to get my site sorted for VX tbh.

RPG tkool 2000 didn't get an English Release either, so who knows?

Your site for RMVX? I lol'd.

That and the fact I own the rmvx domains anyway...

BS. All the RMVX domains are still available except for .com and .cn both of which are owned by big companies.
