PS: Here are the things that will be included in the final v0.7 build:
-Graphical User Interface (No more DOS)
-Repair Project button
-Enhanced Cracking engine
-Enhanced Anti-RCP Securing
-Log creation
-Custom XP theme compatible
-All RMXP version compatibility
-Loading bug fixed
-And bug fixes...
-And many other stuff (Don't remember it all)

EDIT:
The BETA v0.7 is not for today, sorry.

Very nice work indeed. I wonder if this can be further developed to become an auto patcher program? I mean, if you know how to decrypt, then you also know how to encrypt, right? So, is it possible to use this to decrypt, add or replace patched file, and encrypt?  Just curious :)

I've got still kind of many problems, but everythings goin' to be fixed, I just need time.
Don't wait too much from the BETA 1, because it's going to use the same engine than in the other versions.

And for the future releases, when an updated engine is released (Cracking engine, protection engine etc...), you just need to replace the engine file with the old one. (Normally will be named engine000.rpc)

I really don't know when i'm going to relase the BETA 1, need to fix many problems first.

EDIT:

There will NORMALY be three different BETA releases,
-First release, fusioned engine from DOS to GUI
-Second release, bug fixes and stuff
-Third release, finalising everything

Of course, even if the v0.7 takes a long time to do, it still dosn't meant that you can crack any project you want. You could compare RPC to Boomerang, don't even think about decompiling a 5Mb program !

This is a utility that is intended to help out people that encrypted their games and lost the raw copy.  If others use it for any other purpose, that's not the fault of Hoffa.

Er, I use emulators to play SNES games that I own on different platforms so I don't have to have my poor battered SNES sitting out with my new consoles, or have a kajillion old consoles hooked up when I can have one XBOX & my PSP for on the go.  Granted I have played some ROMs that I don't own, especially ones that are tough to get copies of or that were never released in english except by fan translation rom hackers (which is awesome) but there are legitimate uses.

Also of note, the whole "include a no cracking fix" thing is admirable but sort of forces people who are super serious about not having their project cracked to 1. know about that and 2. take that extra step.  I think it's a great utility for newbies who would like to see how a particular set of events or neat trick is done.  As a learning tool it's far better purposed than as a "oh mgork i dleted my original filez."  I'm sure many creators would have a problem with that, of course, but honestly if someone wants to replicate an effect they will do it either by puzzling it out or by looking at the code and the latter way is much more efficient and better for the community as a whole - sharing information leads to more information being produced faster.

Uh, guys, could you please stop arguing against each other ? It would be nice having a topic without 2.000 messages how this tool is illegal, or how it isn't. Go and create a new topic "[Debate] Do you think RPC is legal ?" if you really want to, and if you really need to. Damn.

Actually, I agree, Hoffa.  You want to debate the legality of the program, do so elsewhere.  You want to talk about the program itself, stick around.

At any rate, looking forward to a working copy.  :thumb:

Legality in copyright law is lollerskatez, I am approaching it from a useful application of the software.  In which case, I think it will be a great learning tool :)

So I released the BETA 1 yesterday. I've already found some bugs, like the Command Prompt pop-up when RPC is starting the project... I'll release the B2 in the near future.
 
How if the ones trying to patch the projects did get some files and maybe some scripts that should not be shown to the public?Will the creator give permission to such things?

Yep, I have fixed it, but havn't released it yet. In wich version do you have the loading bug ? Like in the v0.62, if you moved your mouse over the window, you could actually see that loading thing, you know, that Windows' sand time thing.
Or do you mean the Command Prompt pop-up ? Anyway, it has been fixed, just need to release it.

I'm going to release v0.67 today normally, it's going to use the same engine than in the previous builds. Why I want to release that one, is because the DOS version is so damn horrible  :crazy:

When will a new version be released? One with a better "failed to load actor data"-bug-handling maybe?

I uploaded v0.67, it has some small enhancements, but it shouldn't fix all those problems. Like I said in my little FAQ, it's the main reason why making this takes a damn long time. The problem is that nobody knows the .rgssad archive algorythm or anything... It's the same case for me. Enhancing even a little, takes a very long time.
