RMXP? Ebay?

Ebay wouldn't get a lawsuit, but we could easily tell members of the site to hunt down copies of RPG Maker XP on ebay and report them...

I don't think reporting would do much good anyways, now the guy is selling rpg maker 95. It seems ebay wants nothing to do with the auctions unless they must...

RM95?
Wow, he must be desparate!

I have only used it once, and it was the most annoying thing I ever used.

Anyway, I dont think ebay would get in trouble, but the guy could if he was caught.

RM2k3 was that ever legally translated into English?

Not that I know of.

I have used the illegal version though...

I didnt know that it was illegal until after I switched to RMXP...

Who thinks ebay is going to get a lawsuit?

Also, isn't selling illegal items against ebay's policy? So that would make them partially at fault, if they didn't delete the listing.

@Black - Buying an application, software or game overseas is considered illegal if translated and patched illegally (Basically Jap version translated to English but not with permission of maker, via editing files). So unless used as the original (Japanese), it's considered illegal (Hence the "Not for use outside of Thaiwan" < Example).

@kaze - Read my post, seems no-one did. eBay seriously doesn't give a shit about software, games and/or applications. Well, they don't note it clearly. Only that certain actions or sold items is against the law (Of which country? Or state?).

The only legal english RPG Maker i know is RPG Maker XP, all the others are Japanese,(at least I think so)
(My Rm2k3 can't make any games, i don't understand it)
Well, there is Rpg Maker 1 through 3 for the PS1 and 2, but that's not really the problem is it? Also, maybe Warside means he got this thing first, before the legal version?

I saw RPG maker 3 for the PS2 a few days ago down in a different city. I just dont have a ps2 ^_^

Does anyone have that? How could you amke a full fledged game... without a keyboard and mouse?

that would be difficult as hell...

anyway, would it be illegal to sell rpgmaker 3 on ebay?

The Playstation RPG Makers are very limited. You can only use what they give you and you can't script or anything. Typing long scenes of dialouge takes forever with the controler (I have a keyboard I can plug in now). I think the most flexible one for the Playstation is RPG Maker 2 but it was also very conufisung.
anyway, would it be illegal to sell rpgmaker 3 on ebay?
I don't think. It's just about the same as selling a regular game on Ebay.

I own RPGMaker3 for the PS2 and lettme tell you, it ISN'T easy to create the thing.....It's the same as sithlord had mentiones however.....the resources are distgustingly limited, but they do however have a cool prelude maker with it.....

*I had just recently bought a copy of the EBay RPGMaker, and it wasn't an illegal version, however it was a previous version of the program..... The newest version is something like v1.02a right!? The version that I recieved in the mail was v1.01.

Because this v. was npt the same as the v. I downloaded on download.com, i could not further my game, so unregretingly, yet stubbornly paid the entire $60 for the real version..... I ended up paying $75 to get the real v, lol.....
Oh well, but Ccoa is definitely right.....

The best thing to do is to raise awareness of the problem, becuase no matter how hard you try, you are very unlikely to get the exclusive v. without paying for it.....

When I saw RMXP on Ebay, I knew it was illegal cause
1) Its commercial AND it is a computer software.
2) commercial computer softwares usually come with a key,
3) distributing commercial computer softwares are generally illegal.

I wouldn't call the people stupid still, just lack of knowledge about softwares and their licenses.

Does anyone know a commercial software for computers that aren't without registration or can be distributed freely, even be sold? That would be the first one I ever saw...(btw, the ones that ask you to register for a fee but still let you use like mIRC or WinRAR, don't count cause you still "need" to register them)
