The way I see it, there are two general roads to choosing a title: Based off of an object, person, e.t.c. of the game or some sort of word that describes the theme of your game in a nutshell. As the author, no one knows better than you what the title should be.

Sure, except it means nothing. It's dangerous to aim for a title that sounds cool to the exclusion of everything else, because they usually turn out as nonsense that makes no sense in or out of the game's context.

"Ethereal Fate." My fate is in the ether. My fate is all wavely. My fate server may be accessed via Ethernet. I'm fated to drink an Ether and restore MP? Cool.

I have to be honest, most of this got tl;dred because I'm in kind of a hurry right now... Sorry about that, I'll give you a better review when I'm able. Working by first impressions, though, you certainly seem to be well-organized -- this says some good things about how you'll develop the game, too. You seem to have the various aspects of the game well thought-out, at least at this stage. I'm looking forward to a screenshot or two, to see how it all comes together.

Oh no, he's using names from foreign mythos... so unoriginal, he copied shakespeare this game is a sham i hate it...

Titania, the name i never looked anywhere to see if it existed, it popped into my mind one day when i was thinking of a name to call each nation, however, this can be changed since it is being seen as a Shakespeare ripoff. I do not want to be unoriginal, but sometimes it can be hard to come up with original names without having to go to a random name generator of sorts.

Titania, wife of the King of the Faeries Oberon, is often portrayed as angering him, which sets off repercussions in the realms of mortals. They often inhabit a realm called Avalon, the home of the Fae. In "A Midsummer Night's Dream", the quarrel is over a changeling boy who is to be Oberon's page. Oberon, angry because she "withholds the boy, crowns him with flowers and makes him all her joy", places a curse on her to make her fall in love with a man who he curses to have a donkey head. By the end of the play the fight is resolved. Titania comes from Ovid's Metamorphosis, meaning Daughter of the Titans.

I try. When I know something, I go into great detail to explain it to people...weather they want me to or not. Also, if you think that it's the best name for the area, go with it! Don't let other people stop you!

There's nothing wrong with using names from mythos, especially if you're giving them a new and unique purpose. I was pointing out how stupid it is for someone to think you're being unoriginal for using names from Shakespeare and Norse mythology.

Miek, that wasn't my point AT ALL. I didn't even know about the Shakespeare relation. I just thought that he was using Titania because it was in another game based off Norse religion. I apologize for assuming so.

Anyway, the thing about Titania was that it reminded me of earth in some way, so the name was used with that intent. Seeing it has other meaning to it, i guess it's kinda cool because it fits the description i made up for it.

I personally think it sounds better as Titania. When I gave that info I was trying to just supply a helpful fact.  :down: Man I'm confused now. Either way, choose what you want to, not what others want you to.

A new update has been made, i am now recruiting an eventer to do an intro and several cutscenes.

Sorry, it's just that i've been hanging waiting for my mapper to show up, the only thing i have to show can only be the test map i'm using to make several tests, It's the least i have, although i wanted to put quality screenshots first. Also, i'm making the artwork as i post this, so i might get those up first if that's ok.

A poll will be added to ask people what they want to see in the demo. I'd like to know what aspect of the game you're most interested about.

Upon further analysis of my features, the 1000x1000 overworld map was too big to be made, and a lot of empty space would be created, therefore, overword map will be 500x500 and with pixel movement script in, i'll slow down character movement just a bit and make a small Chrono Trigger style sprite to wander the world map.

I'm currently checking if 006 is going to take the position, but you can also be in, if you want to work with him, things can be done faster this way.
