Paying for a Script?

When you're good with event systems or can make a good use of events, then you surely should try to learn how to script.

not to be mean or harsh but no. Some people don't understand scripting, but I do encourage people to try. Its just not something everyone can do. Its like math, some people aren't good at it, some people are really bad at it. Its always best to try, scripting is fun.

I wouldn't say it like that,
We're all equal, it's just that some people will need more time to do things that other people will find easy to do.

I might be wrong but I think that most of the good scripters around (including me) didn't knew a shit about ruby when rmxp first came out.

I didn't know anything either, but that doesn't prove anything. You have to start somewhere. So yeah, go for it, the key is "Patience" and understanding of Programing Theory.

Everyone has there skills, and mine is not within scripting, I been learning about menu systems but that is about as far as my skills will go at this point, and how I figure the battle system to look and work will take me a long time to figure out how to do it. I just think it will get done faster if I get someone who knows how to do it for me.

I think it can be a good idea. You will not be as dependant on people's goodwill if you pay for it.
If you have to learn yourself it will take time. This may be a very long time. Also if you aren't too interested in learning script it will probably take even longer. Having someone to script for you would be faster and they might do a better job than you would.
I say go for it.

Buying a script isn't just buying a script. Do you buy a license for it or do you buy it so you actually own it.
Maybe it's not the script you buy, but the time of the scripter. That again is different.
I don't really what is the most expensive though…

Ps. I knew Ruby before I knew RMXP <_< (big difference)

i think it's a great idea seeming as how much hard work gets put into scripts which do amazing stuff. Seeming as some people sell their games, the scripts should be sold aswell so script makers get some credit for their work also.

I didn't have a clue that this was going on but I'd be happy to put some money into my game for the amount it's worth to get some help into making it unique and special.

It is all about if you want your game to be taken seriously or not really, if you just want it to be like another simple rmxp game then you wouldn't pay for resources but if you want your game to really stand out then you would pay for resources which you will obviously have legal rights to use them because you payed for them fair and square.

Good idea, just don't price them too high. ;)
