Mapping in VX

No it isn't.  :tongue2: However, upon review of the sample maps, it is similar in layout.

EDIT: Further, I've noticed that the sample church map misuses the dresser tiles.

Yeah it is similar in layout... actually so similar all thats really missing is a carpet down the aisle and that the organs moved.... so in reality through my perspective it is the sample map but it looks like someone changed some tiles around....

Do you have a screen of the misused tile?

I may be judging it by XP standard. I kind of forgot that VX is more flexible in terms of how you can use the tiles.

Yeah, it just looks weird with only one half of them used.  :thumb: Still, I'll be taking advantage of not having cookie cutter dressers.
 
Oh yeah, thats because with this program if you make something on layer 2, but then want to change the layer 1 tile, the layer 2 tile gets erased as well, unlike XP.
 
What does the size of the wall have to do with the size of the "ceiling" (for lack of better term)? A 3-tile high wall seemed to high to me.

I've been practicing, trying to different maps in VX to get a "feel"for the program. Here are some:

The mapping is different from XP, but it also seems somewhat simpler. These maps, while not the best or anything, hardly took anytime at all. It took more time to edit that "down" character than to make the actual map.
