It looked so different in my head. :/ grrr. Either ways I didn't get to do what I wanted with the background because I couldn't find the stupid brush to give me the effect I wanted to portray. So I just threw this one on here real fast like. I'm not going to change it because I'm lazy and I have other things I need to try and draw.

Fashion and flare is good to a point but you should at least consider a little bit of functionality. lets face it. an exposed midriff screams PIERCE MY TUMMY PWEASE! ;D" Orcs are not interested in human yabos. Fact. I berate Final fantasy for this too. FF10, random little snipets of fashionable armor here, a light targe there... that kinda craps just not gonna cut it against wolf fangs let alone the forces of ultimate evil <_<''

Mages are allowed to be dressed a little squishery, as are lightly armored thief-ey kinds of things. But please keep your heavy armors armored.

But in FF12 Fran is dead sexy. Even for a 6 ft+ rabbit chick. I gotta admit her armor makes her look really good.

Haha and my noses are I don't know...Just 3 lines actually. | _ / and thats pretty much how I go about doing them.

But O_o I'd love to show you one of my finished character concepts. IF I had some to show. :/ I never get far with concepts.

But yeah my poses [[anatomy for that matter]] backgrounds and ALOT of other things need work. I struggle a lot with them as well. And in the end they always end up rather 'stiff' to me.

You should give me a concept of yours and then I draw it in my style err way of doing it! that'd just be easier for me to work with. Unless you have none then I could whip something up. I hope.

This one is pure shit. I HATE the way this came out. Seriously.

It started off giving me problems [[fix one thing and another thing messed up]] and it ended up in shit with me getting super frustrated and just fucking giving up altogether.

It was SUPPOSED to be my friend Delilah but since I messed up on its a FAIL.

the damn jaw is way off. I so fucking frustrated at the moment. My art skills are acting retarded. Seriously. [[no offense meant towards anyone]]

I'm bored and I need to come up with an idea for something V was kicking me. So in the meantime while I procrast- errr look for inspiration. I'll post a random ass scribble that was done in like 7 mins or so.

The character's anatomy is solid (though is too sketchy to critique), and the portait's hair is too jaggy/sketchy, and it looks like the sharpness is a little too hard, but otherwise it's still nice

the way you do hair is very stringy o-o

when you draw/paint hair try not to do the obvious things (make lots of little lines) but rather to look at it in pieces and parts. not quite as much as anime per se, but less string is a good thing

Ahh I never really noticed that. I got fed up with the portrait trying to get it to look right that I just gave up in the end. :/ either ways noted and will take into consideration. I'm not comfortable with my anatomy as I've stated and I can't seem to get "clean lines" because I don't know how too. But the sharpness? I'm kinda confused by that. Explain please? :3

Yeah I know it is. I've been trying to come up with a way of trying to do it so its less stringy. But I mean I notice all these stray strands and things like that and figure I need to render them for it to look halfway decent in the end. But I get mixed results at times. I'll have to give that a try next go around. Thanks for that. :thumb:

Has to be one of my favorite lines from Max Payne. I was going to name this after a song entitled "Growing Wings" but since I like Max Payne better it gets the name. Haha. I wanted to try my hand at painting in photoshop while trying to STILL come up with something to kick to V. Of course the original drawing that this is based off of [[I took it from my sketchbook]] looks better. But this one has a lot less errors than the one in my sketchbook. :p anyways I drew it up in sketchbook pro, painted it in Photoshop and fucked it up in the end with photoshop. >:V

I suck at painting with photoshop. I got all effect crazy and yeah its blah. I wanted the stick to be something bad ass like a sycthe [[sp?]] or something bad ass but I couldn't seem to draw one correctly so its a rod until I change it. Which'll probably be never so you're stuck with this.

Looks nice.

Her thighs look odd, in the way that they narrow in a dimple-fashion right before they go under the skirt. Thighs definitely bulge out around the knee when looking such a tight bend, but they generally won't bulge, dimple, bulge (unless they're real fatty, which they're obviously not here).

With feathered wings, it actually should go more like:

You really don't have to pay as much attention to it as all that for an illustration like this, but basically think of the wing as having 3 layers: The Primaries, Secondaries, Tertiaries. The Primaries are really long, and in the back. The Secondaries are about as long as 2/5ths to 1/2 of the Primaries, and just above the Primaries. The Tertiaries are about half as long as the Secondaries, and are seated in front of the inner wing. They are generally fluffy and not as well-defined as the other feathers.

You obviously can't go back and change them all now, but that's just for future ref

On the girl herself, the breasts bother me. Shirts typically don't cling that well, even REALLY tight shirts. And she herself is tilted back, but her nipples/pasties are pointed down, meaning there'd be some severe droopage there :x. Next time lessen the darkness under the breast and avoid outlining the rounded "W" shape of the bra. That kind of thing only appears either when you're looking down on the boobs from above the girl, or if she has really large ta-tas (which this one does not). Volume is more feinted with breasts: more defined by the outer lining and the shading rather than the detailed linework.

Still cool though, ignoring the little technical details :D. Still love the hell out of your noses.

Ahh V you always know what to say. I never knew that about wings. I was just going off of what it looked like in my head and the drawing in my sketchbook! I will keep these things in mind. I never knew that about boobers either. I'm never in a position where an actual pair of breasts are just sitting there and I happen to be drawing. Because if there are breasts present then that last thing on my mind is going to be drawing them. >:]

I can still fix things up and now that you've pointed that out I shall indeed do that! Maybe not because I don't like to be stuck on one thing for too long. But I will take ALL of these into consideration and look into drawing breasts more to get them more "natural" looking. Again most of all of my drawings are either off of things in my head and how they appear or from a photo reference. Which I don't reference anatomy as much as I need to be. Its a learning process though and the purpose of these exercises are so that I can improve! Thats why I need you [[the community]] to point out my mistakes and help me realize that, "Hey this boob is lopsided" or "Hey the knee doesn't look like that." Things of that nature.

Google still fails in comparison to a normal dictionary on occasions though <_< don't forget about your books. Rememebr: Anyone can say anything on the internet. To get published you have to go through many channels of refinement and critique.

@Masc:Thats true. I have a TON of books on anatomy and facial structures and all of that. Its just none of them are really appealing to me so they just collect dust. I do need to pick them back up for reals. But they're just so old and boring. I need color and excitement in my life not just black and white...I don't know. I will check back into that unless you meant something else?

ALRIGHTY I'm back and I have to say something on this piece. So listen up, shut up and save your comments until the end.

Because this person means A LOT to me. Whenever I've been feeling down or troubled or any of the other things thats been an obstacle in my life she's always been the one I could turn to in the end [[if not my brothers]]. She always takes time out of her own life to listen to my problems even if its something simple. She's never let me down and she probably never will. We've gotten so mad at each other over the days but time after time she still manages to be there for me in the end of it all. She's my main inspiration to this day and will always continue to be a major influence in my life. I can't really express my gratitude towards her because I'm not really good doing things of that nature. But I do dedicate this piece especially to her. My best friend, my hero, my inspiration in life. Venessa Martinez.

I wanted to do something different than my "normal way" of doing things so I did. Completely in photoshop at that. And I came up with a style of digital painting that I like. :] although I can't get eyebrows to look right. :/
