Scripting. It's something where you're either good at it or you're bad at it. At least if you attempt to do good spriting you can get by, but a script is really either 'works' or 'doesn't work.'

Mapping, for the reasons King Moogle stated. Not to mention unlike other things, just trying and taking my time doesn't seem to make me better and fix the map.

Spriting is indeed tedious if you're doing charactersets, but that's about it. Try just making one frame of a characterset. It's usually fun to just design and get it to look right. Then copying the design onto 15 other frames of slightly different movement, that's where it gets tedious and boring.

I'd say Databasing, for the simple fact that not only is it boring but it's hard.

Get it wrong and it will upset the whole balance of your game and could make it really easy (high hero stats) or stupidly hard (Monsters slightly to strong or a big jump in difficulty)

Mapping has to be the most irritating for me, it's time consuming and gets ignored by people unless it's really bad or really good at which point people point out that mapping doesn't make a good game.

Database work. Eugh.. I find it tedious and boring. In the middle of it, I usually just shut down RMXP 'cause it's so boring.

But to be honest, I usually find that Event work is the best. I just enjoy watching my game come to life, It's fantastic! :)

Resource Management should be amongst: if you make one TINY change to anything, be it picture, tileset, character graphics, or battlers, you have to reload it and select your backgrounds, and you ALWAYS have to do it after you get downloaded graphics! Or would that go under spriting...?

I HATE SCRIPTING!!! But it does not suck... What sucks, is spriting and database creating. My sprites never look good, and when they look good, only are text. And the database is the worst thing in rmxp, lot of names, descriptions, and values to be balanced for a game.

I simply LOVE database balancing and mapping. Usually a good map takes me anywhere from 30 mins to an hour, but it's something I really enjoy doing, so I don't mind it. And I'm a perfectionist, so I almost find it fun to take the time to balance everything.

I guess the thing that I really don't like doing is anything else graphical. I mean, I can edit things alright I guess, but it's just something I really don't like to do. :/

Making Tilesets. I don't mind everything else, and all my data (except my gold system), but making tilesets...

I haven't actually made one yet, but I can tell it's gonna be a pain...

It all gets boring if you do it in large doses. Mapping is fun for me but once I'm on the second map of doing the same sort of locale it gets more and more boring. Datatbases are boring depending on which area, animations are a toal pain in the ass, everything stat based sucks... spriting and scripting are kind of N/A for me... but I voted database.

Database hands down, makes me want to quit making the game quite honestly.
Item stats, enemy stats and making attacks, Jesus I hate making new attacks, frame by frame UGHH!!!

I agree with Calibre in that if you stick to any one of them for long enough it gets boring. That is, except for scripting! I can work on a script for weeks and stay interested. Probably because I'm a software engineering student.

I tried scripting and it is really not my thing. Everything else is nice, at least til some point. I love spriting, really enjoy mapping, like to calculate everything for database and can go nice with events.... but scripoting is not just point and click, so it bothers me.

Mine has to be making Monsters.
Creating monsters that are a challenge but aren't too hard for the levels that they should be facing has always been my biggest and most tedious task in any of the RPG Makers.

Mapping is my biggest chore and usually slows me down in the game making process. It's annoying when I want to do some eventing but can't because of a lack of maps.

Plus, I'm never completely satisfied with my maps and I'll continually go back to revise them which slows down the process even more.
