If you had lots of free time and could make a game based off an existing series

I'd definitely go with Pokemon; I really wanna see an actual Wii RPG with Zelda esque gameplay and a vast region to explore.

Also, let's see the next Megaman Legends!

Well, since I'm already making a Pokémon game, my next choice would be Chao Adventure 3.

If you've never played Sonic Adventure 1/2, chao are these cute virtual pet things. Man, the chao garden was awesome.

:psy: I actually really do enjoy the series, and was being self deprecating. I'm helping Atemu with her two fangames for it right now and working on learning Python so I can create my own.

Lensman.  The original book series, that is.

Actually, I take that back.  That would be cool, but the one that I'd really enjoy creating a game of is one specific book-- Masters of the Vortex, which is set in the same universe, but doesn't follow the adventures of any Lensmen at all, and would be a better choice of storyline to adapt to a game, at least for me.

I actually think Redwall, mentioned a few posts up, would work. I wouldn't do it, as I haven't read a redwall book in years, but I remember really loving them. Also, I've always wanted a WoT game. Too bad for Robert Jordan and his family. I hope the new author can do him justice.

There are too many fangames I would make. However, there is one that I am just dieing to do but almost certainly never will.

Persona 3. I love the game to death (FES doesn't come out here until tomorrow!). Even without it being related to Persona 3 at all, a game with similar systems in a somewhat similar setting (Modern city, dorm, school. No need for a copy of tartarus.) would blow my mind once more.

Breah of fire hands down, I've always loved that series,(haven't played 5 yet though).
I loved from 1 to 4.
I would like to make a Crono sequel too, too bad CC's story blew my head away, and never really got it completely.

This. I'd like to make a Chrono sequel once in my life, much like Chrono Crisis. CC's story was simply amazing, it's not surprising you don't get it fully. I played it over and over again and there's still some things not completely clear for me.

FFVI.

I prefer original games and fan sequels are mostly awful, which is why FFVI has a great setting - the year of inactivity. There's a huge scope for exploring what happened to the world, where people went and the way people adjusted their lives in the year that Celes is inactive between the world of balance and ruin, which is why I'm looking forward to Dargor's SDK. I don't know if I'd ever release anything I make on it though.

Something along the lines of Gundam Universal Century, Super Robot Wars or maybe the old anime VOTOMS.

If I were in less of a mecha mood, Magical girl lyrical Nanoha :D

Also there was my idea of making a game set 1000 years after FF6 in the very same world, as I thought FF7 would be when I first read about it.

Or even an Megaman/X RPG...

I'll be making several fan games based on the following games listed and what BS will they use...

1. Parasite EVE << Parasite Eve Tactics (GTBS)>>
2. RF Online << Rising Force: Tactical Takeover (GTBS) [comes in Bellato, Accretia and Cora versions]>>
3. Ragnarok Online << RTH SBABS >>
4. Palos (this is a Filipino Action TV series actually) << Palos: Alessandro II (GTBS) >>
5. Granado Espada << RTH SBABS >>
6. X-Com series << GTBS >>

Final fantasy ( like VI )
Pokemon
Megaman Battle Networld ( It's really good)
Tales...
and Luminous Arc ( It's a RPG Game for NDS with a good story and graphic )
....
Too much. Most of them are RPG game
