Engine: Eclipse

Does anyone / has anyone ever used Eclipse (the MMORPG engine)? I'm wondering if we could serve it better than we do currently. It'd be quite cheap for us to take out an ad on their website if we wanted to, and if we have users here who use it, we could set forums and such up around it.

I used it when I was younger, it's really shady and crap and I don't recommend it at all.

The whole thing is a cheap looking mess that looks incomplete, it tries to do everything for you (Even gameplay) but only does half of it, so right off that bat it feels like you're modifying an existing game as opposed to creating a new one.

I still think we should get GameMaker subforum before looking this far out :p

Hmm, alright. I guess there's always the option of trying to wean them off eclipse and onto something better though!

As for a Game Maker board, I'm trying to find out why we got rid of it in the first place, we used to have a separate forum for it. I'm all for making one again, it's silly not to have it, it was doing alright.

Perhaps a better ORPG engine that uses a networking library that is current in development. Could use a more popular game engine for the base like Game Maker or make a new engine completely to do what Eclipse failed with.

Idea?
