Digimon

Today the project almost extincted @_@
I almost got a shock! when I had to restart the computer and when I did and wanted to work on the project and it showed an error message "unexpected file format" and the same with the play test and after long time of trying I succeeded transfering all the data to a new project except for the systems I made (day&night and weather) items, skills and animations :(
I made the items again, switches and varibles, skills and animations and weather again and the weather come up even better!!! its not rainning or snowing inside the house! and you keep hearing the rain from outside! :DD
tommarow I'll do the rest.. Thanks for keep supporting project
 
Are you going to put any more than 50 digimon in the game? I mean it doesn't seem like much compared to Pokemon games...Not that I should be comparing the two for obvious reasons...

Anyways...mind posting who's on the team in what position in the first post? Just formalities is all.

hmm.. 50 Digimons is my goal for now to release the BETA. After that I'll start working on more..
On the team..? amm.. you as a Spriter/Scripter. Xielf as a spriter. And me as a spriter/eventer/digimon maker and any other thing that must be done for the game :P
My previous project been done ALL by myself so I kin'da used to it XD

Dude, I'm like one of the biggest digimon fans ever. If you need help with character ideas, ask me. For inspiration, you should play digimon world 3 (if you already haven't) It's a ps1 game, but the concept of playing online was included. Maybe that game would help a little. Oh, and you should definitely put hidden Mega level bosses randomly around the maps. That would really get someone. Lets say you got a level 12 kotemon and you run into a level 79 wargreymon. or even worse, omnimon. that would make you crap your pants.

ps- if you are gonna do it farm style, do a ABS instead of a turn based battle. If you can simulate the feel of Digimon rumble arena in a rpg, you would rock.
 
oh, in my country there never was a thing like that :\
And, is it really possible for Koromon to digivolve into Betamon? And for Agumon to evolve to any form other then Greymon? But I really take the Idea of Digimon to digivolve to Numimon if it treated bad.

What other things you think my game should have?
 
DigiMon don't have a set evolutionary path, it's not Koromon->Agumon->Greymon etc, it could be Agumon->Tyranomon
Did you know that Patamon originally didn't evolve into Enge/Angemon?

Personally I think you should base this on classic DigiMon rather than the modern DigiMon, that means no set growth order.

I see.. I already visited this site and I really liked it. btw, there is still Digimon Pets got selled?
amm.. theoretically no one seid that digimons have set growth order. maybe in the series Agumon evolved into greymon because he got treated like that and if he was some one else's partner maybe he was Tyranomon. And if you think like that all the Tyranomon they met in seasone 1 have to evolve from some digimons and maybe it was Agumon. But this is one of the thing I can't be sure so I rather go with the modern Digimons so no modern fans will be like "HUH?" like I was when I saw the site.
Although I'll use the Numamon and Tedymon idea.

I really liked the window skin!

And one more thing for this post: I decided to use the RTP for now. It's hard already makin the Digimons, Skills, Stats, Animation, Systems, Items so for now I don't see any problem with the RTP and I see many good games made in RTP (SandFall, Master of the Wind and many other)

Farm style= monster rancher-ish

And no, it won't suck if you do it right. The way i see it is like in DW3, where the digimon follow you. Only instead of fading into a battle screen, they just fight.
    The only reason i suggested you do an ABS instead of the default, was because i thought the game would be , forgive for saying this, lazy on the digimon. I'd be a lot cooler if the digimon MOVED when they fought.
    But it's your game. i can only make suggestions. If I made any false assumtions, i'm sorry.
 
the original DigiMon World had the best battle system. I've tried recreating it several times, but it's so good that I can't. I reckon you should try something like that.

What kind of system did it have?
 
it was real time and on map, the way the battles work was that the player selects an attack type and depending on your digimon's speed it will eventually attack.
you have to have played it to know it and only real digimon fans have played it as it is based on the original digimon.
