Basically its Quantum Leap-ish when it comes to storyline and structure. 1500 years ago there was something that happened.. and then.. something else happened... and then something else. So I am going to set out on a journey to prove my innocence, that is the only thing that I am willing to do.


That alone doesn't seem to be much of a story, its basically you saying that someone has falsely been accused of murder and they need to prove that they are not a murderer... How? The real murderer is dead unless he's immortal.. but that cant be the case because he hasnt been harassing the people with his army. So the only thing I can possibly get out of this story is; Since the hero killed his girlfriend he is secretly a reincarnation of the great villian and he doesnt know it. Therefore while trying to prove he is something that he is not (which he is.) he becomes that something that he didnt want to be. Thusly making him the villian.. which means the hero is someone else.

I can totally believe any human can do that shit.. and lets not forget the ability to train in a "hyperbolic time chamber" and eating a fuckin bean can cure broken bones instantaneously. Little boy? I am 21, firstly.. secondly so the fuck what? He's experimenting with game design.. we all know he is a kid. Shit, when I was a kid I used to say alot of things when I took the internet seriously as well. I also didn't have proper story structure abilities and crappy judgement when it came to utilizing
rpg95's graphics. I can honestly say that when I was a kid, I would've done the same thing. So? If its crappy, dont have a period.. just encourage him and keep letting him get better. The more he uses the program, the better he will get.


Honestly, if someone uses bad grammar its either because of four things..

1. They're a kid..

Lets be brutally honest.. whats well thought out about FMA, Inuyasha, or DBZ?

Shit.. DBZ is about the same thing through all of the Sagas... powering up.. fighting the bad guy.. beating the bad guy.. getting stronger.. powering up.. fighting the bad guy.. beating the bad guy.. getting stronger. Thats the formula.. period.

Inuyasha? Telling what happened between Inuyasha and Kikyou.. fighting a demon.. beating the demon.. getting stronger.. telling what happened between Inuyasha and Kikyou.. fighting a demon.. beating the demon.. getting stronger.. and possibly having Kagome go back to the current day and age.

FMA? Looking for the stone.. almost finding the stone.. being thwarted.. looking for the stone.. being diverted in the process.. beating the enemy. Looking for the stone.. being diverted in the process.. beating the enemy and then becoming an enemy of the state.. looking for the stone.. running away.. blah blah blah..

Now let me show you the similarities.

This game and DBZ.. both have abnormally powerful people, being able to cope with strong gravity and no motivation to venture forward except the whole "because I can" concept.

This game and FMA.. both have doors that grants power to a person and give them the abilities to become stronger than normal people.

This game and Inuyasha.. both have a storyline that you just dont get but you want to keep trying to get it desperately.. because its like an inside joke between the characters themselves.

Also.. calling him an idiot? You're getting frustrated because...? There was a great person that once said "If at once you don't succeed, pick yourself up and try again." The more you try.. indeed the better you become.. "Practice makes perfect" .. just because your flaws aren't visible in this thread doesnt mean you're flawless.. "No one is perfect" .. so what right do you have to call him an idiot because his story is cliche and whatnot.

Just because the game doesn't make sense doesn't mean you're bad at what you do. Cliche means nothing.. this forum is full of cliche games.. and usually cliche rpg's are even more common among the popular pay games.

The formula?

A villian emerges, heroes feel the need to stop the villian.. the villian is vanquished. The way you customize it though.. is everything. The way you make the game stand out and make it yours.. is everything. Don't base it on things you saw in other games.. base it on everything you dream about. The true bard is that who can take a story about love and make you "need" to know what happens next. You may need to refine the story a bit, but if you like the game... then make it better.. its is not entirely unsaleable.

3. Still no excuse. I've known several people who were mentally handicapped, and could hold a conversation over the Internet better than most mentally healthy individuals.

If you are on a web board whose primary purpose is to express the thoughts and ideas of a generation of video game developers, than the ability to do so in a clear, concise manner should be your number one goal. If they "dont give a fuck", than they should not be here. There are other shit holes for people like that.

Also, your comparison between this and three of the more popular anime's is still extremely insulting. The fact that you had actually gone through the effort of finding pictures of said animes instead of saying their names just shows how hopeless you are. I would hope that most people -- on the off chance they don't know what they were -- would be intelligent enough to give Google a brief exercise.

Also, your comparisons really mean nothing. That which you find similarities to are just generic plot devices that can easily be found in anything. Star Wars has abnormally powerful people. Kingdom Hearts has a door that leads to an unending wealth of power and destruction.

It's not the goal that's important. It's the journey you take to get there that is. And the topic creator has utterly failed at conveying just what that journey is. Hell, he hasn't even given us an idea of the goal either! Just some history that really has nothing to do with what meager plot we are given a glimpse of. Which, ironically, is basically what I said in my review of his trite story, just in smaller words for your brain to process.

This topic needs to be locked, and the topic creator needs to shove this idea somewhere. Not forever, but to have something to take out and toy with every now and then in an effort to improve what little writing ability he has at the moment.
