Best RMXP game you've ever played?

Quintessence, without any competition. At first I felt there was too much dialog, but I realized that the story is more entertaining then any battle could ever be. It's a book that is being read to you but which you partake in. I love it. Not to mention the characterd epth is awesome.

Oh and it has Vikon, I mean wtf.

Never know that Vikon has so much fan o.O Maybe because his version of the mermaid story was published and became best seller.

To me, it's Master of the Wind :D Awesome game, great challenges, nice storyline XD Memento Vivere and Quintessence - TBV are good also.

And Cast Aside. Too bad Anaryu dropped it >_>

Nah it's just his stupidity that stole my heart. Specially one scene where he's garding petal's house hahaha.

Eventually prologue will be on this list
(whenever seph finishes that spirit orb system >_>)

So yeah I gather from most of the games here that people like action as well as story, anyone played any good games with an animated sideview battle system?
How much does the battlesystem impact on how much you like a game?

I'm pretty sure Cell Chamber uses the animatd system. It's pretty fun. ;)

Battle Systems make a HUGE difference. One reason why I dislike Quintessence: even though the story is great, the battles just turn you off like mad (no offense to Reives. It's still a pretty brilliant system. It just...sucks...)

^_^

I loved an abandoned demo called Kinetic Cypher Alpha, it has an interesting atmosphere and hinted to neat systems and story, but was really short :(

I actually love our sample game Knight Blade - Howl of Kerberus, despite the horrible artwork in battles (the mecha design sucked for the artwork). The story was great, though it got too overpowered near the end....

I also liked The Last Scenario, battlers are not animated, but it is the only front view battle where battlers are postioned in a way where it makes sense (facing the enemy and in the battlefield i9nstead from the menu).
The story seems solid and pulls you to keep playing to know what will happen next :)

The master of the wind series by Volrath and Artbane. Under by the man, although it doesn't get interesting till about an hour in. I also really like Shades and cell chamber. Also AOV bloodrose, although I still haven't finished it.

I've unfortunately only tried very few. However, I very much did fall in love with Memento Vivere and Ethereal Dreams. Their extra-hard work on the graphical presentation on their games made me sometimes forget they were actually made with RMXP.
