Back when I was using VX, I was kind of having difficulty making a game/maps that didn't look like crap. So, I compiled the RPG Maker 2003 RTP chipsets and other chipsets I took from Charas and put them in VX format. They're not perfect (nothing on Earth is), but I found them kind of entertaining. No credit needed, not that you probably would.

Oh, and no, there are not 2003 different tiles in these sets, these are tiles from Rpgm2003, in case you were wondering.


Hero1 (heroes, fighters, magicians, priests)
Hero2 (monks, thieves, pirates, elves)
Hero3 (warrier, samurai, ninjas, bard, half-naked chick, other monks)
Hero4 (men, women)
General1 (little boy, little girl, boy, girl, man, woman, old man, old woman)
General2 (priest, nun, desert guy, desert girl, bartender, bunny girl, fairy, angel)
General3 (castle set: king, queen, prince, princess, knight, old guy, fat guy, maid)
General4 (recolor of General1)
General5 (another recolor of General1)
Monster1 (slime, ghost, orc, fiery guy, skeleton, grim reaper, zombie, minotaur)
Monster2 (harpy, blue dragon, dark elf, dark knight, golem, green dragon, scythe demon, cloak demon)
Vehicles (raft, ship, cruise liner, blimp, hot air balloon, tank, bomber plane, yellow dragon)
Animals (dog, cat, chicken, sheep, horse, cow, lion, tiger)
Object1 (doors, chests)
Object2 (switchs/buttons, boulders, mine cart)

Hey, VX came with extras too!
Object Bonus (toilets, shining chests, arcade consoles)
Snow Floor Corners (there was no room for the snow-embedded ice in tilesets, here's the rest in a charset)
Overworld Objects (Japanese) (overworld map destinations for Japan from Charas)

http://s523.photobucket.com/albums/w360/Rey_J_99999/RPG%20Maker%20resources/charset_converter.gif[/img]copy this into Paint, put it next to a Charset, zoom in, separate the Charset in two horizontal sections, separate those again, take the Right-facing Char "bar" and put it under the Left bar, then take the UP bar and finish. Do for both, then mash it together again, and voila! Save and be done.
(The vertical lines are to guide the separation process, the horizontal line is width of 1 char for reference or more complicated editing)

This was the easiest conversion. (2000 facesets are 4x4, VX facesets are 4x2, 1 face 3 times the size of a 2000 face)
General1: Upper Half / Lower Half (people/employees)
General2: Upper Half / Lower Half (castle/animals)
Hero1: Upper Half / Lower Half (hero, fighter, magician, priest/monk, thief, pirate, elf)
Hero2: Upper Half / Lower Half (warrior, samurai, ninja, bard, half-naked chick, other monk/men, women)
Monster: Upper Half / Lower Half (slime, goblin, orc, cloaked, skeleton, zombie, grim reaper, minotaur/harpy, dragon, dark elf, dark knight, golem, blue dragon, demon, bearded demon :P)

Just double-sized to match the tiles. This was actually the easiest conversion, if it even counts.

The (Sky)1's have thinner clouds, the (Sky)2's have bigger clouds and look more like you're looking straight upwards.

These were obviously resized unevenly, but hey, there you have it--if you want it.

This one's not so easy to do. :[ It's also not as customizable/fun as the others. :\

Shadow (for airship)

Actually, I did make up a couple of things in there: Metaknight's mask and a couple of the wood pieces were edited from existing resources, including the wooden wall tile (wall and ceiling).

Get creative with events and passablility settings, and you could potentially use the cliff/wall tiles in layer 2...

EDIT: Put sections in spoilers, added charactersets.
EDIT2: Added extras section, descriptions
EDIT3: Added facesets (the easiest conversion yet)
EDIT4: Added panoramas (easiest by far)
EDIT5: Added Title screens. Remember: When you save the image to import into VX, give it the right name.
EDIT6: It is now kind of late into the evening. Just added the windowskin/shadow/system/whatever. Good night... *yawn*
EDIT7: Changed thread title, added more descriptions, fixed link to non-existant Title5... hahaha...
